Privacy & child safety

This page explains, in plain language, what information Islamic Education and Awareness of Casey Association Inc. collects through this website, why we collect it, who can see it and how you can ask us to change or delete it. It reflects how we actually handle information for prayer, programs, enquiries and donations.

Who we are

IEACA Cranbourne Masjid is operated by Islamic Education and Awareness of Casey Association Inc. (ABN 33 899 229 860), at 22-24 Brunt Street, Cranbourne VIC 3977. For anything on this page, contact the office on 03 5905 9055 or at info@ieaca.org.au.

What we collect

Program registrations. The participant’s name, date of birth or age, contact name, email, phone, suburb, emergency contact, any medical or support information you choose to give us, your answers to a program’s own questions, and the consents you tick. For children’s programs we ask for a parent or guardian name and their consent.

Enquiries. Your name (optional for questions to the imam team), email, phone, the topic, your message and any details you add. Questions sent through Ask an Imam are treated as confidential.

Volunteer applications. Your contact details, the areas you would like to help with, your availability, whether you hold a Working with Children Check, and any skills you tell us about.

Donations. If you tell us about a transfer or pledge, we record your name, contact details, the amount, the date, the appeal it relates to and any note you add. Where you donate online, the payment page is run by the payment provider — we receive confirmation of the gift, not your card details.

Website usage. Basic, aggregated information about how the site is used helps us keep it working. We do not run advertising trackers on this website.

Why we collect it

To run the program you registered for, to answer your question or enquiry, to organise volunteers, to record and receipt donations, to keep children safe, and to meet our obligations as a registered charity. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Access is limited by server-side rules, not just by a hidden menu. Registration, enquiry, volunteer and donation records are readable only by the masjid’s authorised administrators. Program information, service details and announcements published by the masjid are public; personal submissions never are.

A small number of services we rely on hold data on our behalf: our website and database platform, the prayer-times service the masjid publishes through, our payment provider for online donations, and map services. Each of these providers handles the data needed for that specific purpose.

Children's information

Children’s details are collected only to run the program they are enrolled in, are shared only with the staff and volunteers responsible for that program, and are never published on this website. A parent or guardian must provide consent when registering a child. We ask about Working with Children Checks for volunteers who work with children, and photography is only used where a parent or guardian has given consent — you can decline photography and still take part in everything.

Payments and card details

Card payments are completed on the payment provider’s own secure page. This website never receives or stores your card number. Donation records we hold show the amount, date, purpose and payment method only.

How long we keep information

Registration and volunteer records are kept while the program or volunteering relationship is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can answer questions and meet our record-keeping duties. Donation records are kept for the period required of a registered charity. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to resolve them.

Access, correction and deletion

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Call the office on 03 5905 9055 or email info@ieaca.org.au and the team will action your request. If you are asking about a child’s record, please contact us from the parent or guardian’s contact details we hold.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can resolve it. You may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

This page is updated whenever our practices or the services we use change. The current version always applies to this website.
